Thai puppets show (Hun Lakorn Lek – หุ่นละครเล็ก)

My friend and I went back to บ้านศิลปิน (Baan Silapin | the artisr’s house) at Klong Bang Luang (คลองบางหลวง ) to see our favourite Thai puppets show (Hun Lakorn Lek – หุ่นละครเล็ก) again.  This time we stayed after the show ended and watched five kids from the neighbourhood (from 3 to 12 years old) learned a pantomime dance or Khon (โขน)one of the most spectacular forms of Southeast Asian dance-drama.

We were told that for the puppeteer to take part of the Thai puppets show (Hun Lakorn Lek – หุ่นละครเล็ก), one has to learn Khon for, at least, 6 years.
